Will Lipitor Alzheimers be the next wonder drug to cure Alzheimers disease or not is something that may be a small reason to give patients much hope as this way of treating Alzheimers patients is being studied by a gentleman named D. Larry Sparks, who is the head of Roberts Laboratory for Neurodegenerative Disease Research in Sun City, Arizona.

Eliminates Unwanted Cholesterol From The Brain

According to Sparks, there is reason to be optimistic that it may indeed be the new medication that will help slow down the neurodegenerative disorders. It is also being touted as a means to eliminate unwanted cholesterol from the Alzheimer patients brain, and Lipitor belongs to the family of drugs that reduce cholesterol that are known as statins. However, there is need for extensive clinical testing before it can really be shown that Lipitor Alzheimers will really do the necessary good that is expected of it.

Though tests are ongoing, results may not be available for another two years, though people concerned with testing Lipitor have great hopes that these studies will indeed bear fruit. About twenty years ago, Sparks came to realize something that nobody else had perceived and that was that excess levels of cholesterol in the brain could very well be linked to Alzheimers disease, and even the American Heart Association concurs that such is indeed the case and high cholesterol levels are risky as far as Alzheimers disease is concerned.

However, the question is whether Lipitor Alzheimers will do the trick and cure the disease or not. There is a bit of hope that such is indeed possible as Sparks has encountered encouraging results regarding Lipitor Alzheimers on patients with mild to moderate Alzheimers disease. According to Sparks, patients showed marked improvement after having had Lipitor Alzheimers treatment for six months than they were prior to taking such medication.

Furthermore, patients that had tried Lipitor Alzheimers for a year and then discontinued with it were found to be in need once more of the medication and there had been enough improvement while taking Lipitor Alzheimers for families to have noticed the difference when the patient took the drug, and how such improvements disappeared when it was discontinued.

Also, it is noticed that Alzheimers disease patients are prone to getting depressed when affected by the condition. However, when they took Lipitor Alzheimers there was a significant and lesser depressed state in the patients, which begs the question as to how does Lipitor Alzheimers actually help patients.

In purely layman terms, the benefits of Lipitor Alzheimers can be seen when it causes patients to have less cholesterol in their blood thereby allowing the blood to siphon off extra cholesterol from the brain and thus contribute positively to improving the Alzheimers patients condition.

Till such time as Sparks does not make his findings public, we can only wish him well and hope that Lipitor Alzheimers is indeed what he says it is.
